I'd have to agree with a lot of posters here; I'm not filling up my HoM for any reason other than that it's fun to do. Anything that requires me to do any more work than I would normally choose to do, I'm not doing.

Besides, I have five characters, and I'll probably have about three more by the time GW2 comes out. There is NO way I'm filling out eight HoM's, and I'm not about to start picking favorites either. If they merge the HoM across the account, then we'll talk.

More than likely I'll snicker a little at those who grinded their way to a full HoM to get elite, high end items in GW2 and the OP's situation arises, then continue playing.

I'll probably just play GW2 anyway.

And the HoM has already failed imo.

I don't know about you, but the HoM gives me the urge to complete titles and to improve my monuments just that i can see the statues of the 3 campigns or the lightbringer, sunspear statues. I realy like the HoM in it's present form and i'm sure the compansations in GW2 will suck but i don't care !!!

Exactly.
Stop setting yourself up to be let down. The accomplishments are pretty much useless (except for looking purdy) in GW1; what makes you think they'll be anything different in GW2?

Exactly! Although I am aiming for r6 koabd, I do it for fun and a sense of accomplishment of seeing a whole bunch of, for the most part, nice looking statues, etc... I don't expect any actual in game benefits from GW2. However, it'd be nice if you could reskin current armours/weapons based upon what you've collected in GW1 without changing the mods, thus not altering gameplay (consequently making the game fair) and giving the people that went through the trouble of filling up their halls something to be proud about. All in all, players shouldn't be getting r6 kobd out of duty but out of fun. If you're filling your hall for benefits, you're asking for a dissapointment ^^

That's how I feel as well, but how do you choose which character to get R6 KoAB on? :/

it is a total seperate game. they didn't have to give us anything for playing gw1. I hate how some people are only playing now not for fun and just to get unlocks for gw2. if they see it asa waste of time, its there fault. i dont care what we get from gw2, its still something good

It'll probably be 50% off your next character slot purchase.

Indeed. They have said quite specifically that the monuments won't give you any kind of advantage over other players, just something to show off. I believe they said you will get something along the lines of unique titles, pets or companions.

Someone said it best before, it's similar to pre-order content. It'll be a nice little novelty but nothing huge. If you're filling up the HoM just to unlock things in GW2, I'd stop right now.

And hopefully it will land you in a psycho-ward where you can get help.

It's not the end of the world... There are really great things about starting from the ground-up. Enjoy them.

What will I do?

I'll play regardless, and pray that these what if threads go away by then.

If HoM failed, I wouldn't be surprised at all and would continue doing whatever I was doing.

Well clearly HOM is entirely optional for people anyway so I can't see where it would fail to begin with. Though I can definitely hear the complaints from some saying that they worked so hard on their titles and all they got was "this and that" for their efforts. The calm before the storm.

You might want to at least put the tapestries up. You'll prolly need a completed hall in order to save your character's name for GW2.

And who the heck buys tapestries anymore?
